The Italian rider will link up with the team who helped Alvaro Diaz to the title in the 2022 season

The team that took Alvaro Diaz to FIM Supersport 300 World Championship glory in 2022 will have a new face on their bike in the Championship next year as Gabriele Mastroluca links up with the Arco Motor University Team for a 2023 title challenge. 2023 will be Mastroluca’s fourth season in the Championship and he will go in search of his first wins and podiums as he joins the team that enjoyed so much success in 2022.

Mastroluca made his debut in the 2020 campaign but did not score a single point in his ten races, recording a best finish of 18th in Race 2 at Portimao. His first points came early in the 2021 season as he took fourth place on home soil at Misano, before recording two further top-ten finishes in that campaign. 2022 was a similar story for Mastroluca as he took a best finish of fifth place but was a consistent points scorer, taking 17th in the Championship standings.

Prior to his time on the world stage, Mastroluca competed in his native Italy in the CIV Moto3 class in 2019, finishing 24th in the standings, and CIV Pre Moto3 in 2018 when he fought for the title. He took third in that year, winning one race and taking five further for podiums. A new challenge awaits Mastroluca for next season as he links up with the Arco Motor University Team, looking to become their second Riders’ Champion in WorldSSP300.

Discussing his switch, Mastroluca said: "I’m super happy to join Arco Motor University Team in WorldSSP300 next season. It is a great opportunity for me, to fight for the Championship. I’m looking forward to riding for the Arco Motor University Team with Yamaha and I can’t wait for the first test aboard the Yamaha R3 with the team, as it’s clearly a competitive bike, with Diaz winning the World Championship last year with this bike. I am happy to have this opportunity. I’m excited to start the first test and training together, the preseason will be very important for me.”

Antonio Molina, Team Manager, added: “We are very proud of the incorporation of Gabrielle with us for 2023. We have followed him for a long time, and we are sure that with his mentality and his talent he fits perfectly in our project where we will undoubtedly try to fight for the Championship again together with Yamaha.”
